CURNO (BERGAMO) – Esteban Cambiasso was presented with the 30th Le Due Torri (The Two Towers) award by Inter Club Curno in the province of Bergamo last night. The Argentine midfielder joins a long list of illustrious names who have won the award since it was founded in 1970, including Gabriele Oriali who won it in 1979.
Designed by local artist Edoardo Carozzi the award, made in copper, is given to the player who receives the most votes from Inter Club Curno members during the season. Awarded consecutively from 1970 to 1989, the award has been given less frequently in recent years. Cambiasso won it this year for his performance over the past few seasons.
Over one hundred guests attended the award ceremony at La Meneghina restaurant, including Inter Club Curno president Riccardo Ferrari, Inter Club Coordination Centre director Fausto Sala, provincial coordinator Rosella Cremonesi and delegations from several Inter Clubs in the Bergamo area.
