MILAN – Cristian Chivu celebrated becoming a father with a brilliant performance against city rivals AC Milan.
"We tried to defend as best we could, we knew it wouldn’t be an easy match but we did what we had to and Pato’s goal came more for their merit than through our fault," the Romanian defender told Inter Channel.
"There’s no lack of difficulties when there’s so much quality on the pitch, but we held out to win this very important match.
"A derby is always a derby, there are always motivations even if the opponent is in the bottom half of the table. Us players are always motivated to give more than our best. We are lucky to have a big club as a rival and this makes our performance even more notable."
